On FB I was tipped about this spot - Thanks Darragh. It was taken last weekend at Messe Luzern

More nuts!

Nah, this time differents nuts:

When mounting the new wheels there was a small issue for the rear wheels.

They could not be properly mounted due to different sizing. So today Jos scored appropiate wheel nuts to overcome this issue. The plan is to get the Original wheels overhauled.

New parts

On our return from our Italy trip (IHWC) there was a package waiting for Jos from the USA. Turns out the new gas cap and steering lock arrived. I bet most of you must be thinking we are nuts to have this ordered at this stage. Normally these are items you purchase at the end of the restoration. But since we can not do much more at this very moment it does make sense to buy it as we will need it at some point. The steering lock might come in handy in any case.

Steering Lock:

The gas tank was already removed and doesn't look to bad. We have decided to get it refurbished. Besides we are still not sure if it's Original or a modified tank? Looks Original though and I could not see any signs of modification. Maybe time to sign up on a Dodge Aspen forum to get some help on this project.

Nicely stored

Last week not a lot happened. This was mainly because we were attending our yearly IHWC trip. For those interested, sorry, it's in Dutch only: https://italyherewe.com/

In any case, this resulted me in visiting Jos and as such I was able to check the state of our Monteverdi again. It's now nicely stored inside and even covered as well. Just like the other cars.

 And without covers:

And without interior:

All the removed items are also nicely stored and covered inside.

The next step will be getting the car to the Netherlands so I can officially register it on my name. But also potentially removing the engine and gearbox. Plus we can start looking around for a bodyworker.

In fact a lot more conversations happened in the background with various sources and it's becoming an interesting story. But for now we will not disclose any of this information.

Monteverdi Sales brochures

Unfortunately I got outbid on this auction lot. It got sold for € 65,-  (excl. fee). As can be seen it did consist of various sales brochures. And it did include one leaflet about the Sierra.

As can be seen on the stamp, it was a brochure offered by a dealer in Austria, called Friedrich Wurmbrand. The company still exist and they do sell a few secondhand cars on their website.

It's remarkable that Monteverdi choose another small company to act as a dealer. Just as in Germany, see blog: http://monteverdisierra.blogspot.nl/2018/04/brochure-monteverdi-safari-sierra.html

I'm still curious regarding other Monteverdi dealers ...
